Enterprise Architecture

Working with my current client to help lay the foundation for building an Enterprise Architecture has entailed a lot of very interesting experiences. I, with a few others, have spent the better part of the last year talking to and educating the stakeholders in the organization about what EA is, where it can bring value and how it complements other management frameworks to comprise a business model for the use of technology assets. Look for future blog posts on these subjects.

For myself I will be moving forward as an EA Consultant by broadening my skill set and by getting my TOGAF 9 certification later in the week as well as attending a 10 day IBM EA Bootcamp next month which will provide some excellent hands on time using Rational System Architect and producing a wide-variety of EA deliverables.

My next posting will discuss my views on the required level of organizational buy-in required to begin the EA journey and how to pitch the benefits to various audiences.
